Alison Bradley Projects is delighted to announce that two artworks by Kunié Sugiura have entered the collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA): Yellow Mum (1969), an iconic early photo-canvas, and DEAD END STREET (1978), a sculptural photo-painting that combines photo-emulsion on canvas, acrylic paint, wood, and empty space.
The acquisitions were made possible through gifts of Peggy Guggenheim and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Honig. The gallery is honored that SFMOMA has recognized Sugiura's significance.
